Remember, you have a limited amount of time to prepare for post-fire impacts. The clock starts ticking the instant fire moves across the landscape. DO NOT WAIT.
Actions to consider WHEN THE FIRE STARTS:
- Customize After the Fire resources contained within this toolkit for your use.
- Have post-fire information available at public meetings about the fire; take advantage of the attention given to fire suppression to prepare residents for the next steps.
- Contact your local NRCS office to ask about the Emergency Watershed Protection Program. This is time sensitive, so do not wait.
- Work with the Burned Area Emergency Response team to get information out to the public quickly and efficiently.
- Review the Phoenix Guide contained within the resource library for more comprehensive information.
